Both Graham and Schumer agree that they want to do this bipartisan. Graham wants one more Republican to support the bill. If not, he wouldn't back it. This is a known fact and even Schumer is well aware of it.
If health care passes through reconciliation, then getting that one crucial Republican vote would become that much difficult. In other words, Immigration bill would never see the light this year.
It tells me, although Graham is in it, he is not really in it... He wants to take the credit for bipartisanship but not the responsibility for making it happen. And that is the reason for one more Republican support.

We need more attention. Economy and all., they are going to be there, but I am sure US doesnt want to loose by delaying it. These are our years where we can contribute. They dont want to send some of us back and invite us at 55-60 years as dependents on our citizen children.

Hi
I hold a H1b Visa but did not work after coming to US.
Can anybody guide me regarding my current status.
My H1 was approved in 2007 quota and i entered US in march 2008..but was not successful in getting a job and my employer is not running any payroll..
can anybody help me with this??

There are people from EB3 with PD from 2001 ( yeah, TWO THOUSAND AND ONE) who are maintaining their EB status diligently by having a steady job and waiting and waiting and waiting for their GC to come.

2 for the dynamic composition, 3 just cracked me up because the percussion instruments are so domineering and 4 seems pure concentration. 2 and 4 could maybe be cropped slightly, but that's very minor.

I got the same response from my attorney for my AP to be approved. It is very funny that first he said I can not leave the country while AP pending and they he said that I could leave once my biometrix appointment is over. I am holding it until the critical situation comes for my desparate need to go to my homecountry India.
Usually it takes 90 days to get AP nowadays. I checked in , some have received it in 20 to 60 days. If you do not plan to return for a long time, you will not be able to use it anyway when you return (you may have to go to the US consulate before coming there to get letter / keep extending while you are out there).
What you can do is...
1. Call the number in your AP receipt document and look for an opportunity to expedite it. If this is very critical, they can guide you on how you can expedite it.
2. If possible, get an InfoPass appointment to your local USCIS office and go there in person, try to explain the situation and make them feel on what you are missing.
3. Visit the senator's office in person and talk to the Senator and explain the situation and request to expedite it. Before you make your personal visit, explain the situation to the exec assistant of Senator and get her view on what would be Senator's response.
4. Quiltely wait until the AP gets approved.

but I did not find any college [small/medium/big ] which are offering MS program for below 6k including all.. I found few colleges who are offering at 6k, but their degress are not valid in INDIA/USA as they looks like diploma mills.
In a 4 months search I found one college [regionally acredited], which will cost 13k including every thing.
I found one more state college which are offering MS in computer science for 12k
These two colleges help us to transfer visa to F1 and chances to get work permission in 4 months [part time]
bottom line is: if you find any college [regionally acredited, not online university] which are offering masters program between 6 to 9k, please update me through this post

I think other simple RFE is for medicals. We just have to mail the envelope provided by Civil surgeon along with the cover page sent by USCIS as part of RFE.
The cover page they sent us includes
1> Officer #
2> CUD ( They should receive the mail on or before this date)
3> Form # ( I-485, I-140 etc)
4> File #: A # if available
5> Receipt #: receipt # for the form # above
6> Address to which the document should be mailed.
I didn't see any bar code as one poster suggested.

Growth is slowing down, budget deficit is high, the long term bond curve is inverted, all pointing to a significantly slowing economy. That does not mean recession, but it does mean more layoffs, and more difficulty in getting labor certified. That might impact how things work next year.

I do not mean that nothing will change, possibly 485 filing will happen, but do not raise your hopes high on GC number increase.

The whole non-compete agreement is a cruel joke on the employee who finds his own project. All these incapable bad desi employers ban the employee from joining the client whom the employee got them in the first place.
I know a friend of mine works for an employer, he found his own project through a vendor, now because of non-compete agreement he cannot join the client, nor the vendor and now the employer and vendors are buddies and thinking of other business opportunities. In all this the employee is the loser while it was he who brought the employer and vendor together into minting more money at his expense.
This is especially true of smaller companies. Big companies at least have real end clients and find projects. With smaller companies, employee finds projects, helps build client list for his company, gets paid less than market rate, etc.
If the GC process were smoother, a lot of such employers would shut down. Their business model is helped by the immigration mess....

True, this affects everyone really, but was just saying from what I have seen of my ROW friends. Getting green cards within 1-2 years while the bulk of us wait for 5-6+
My point was people from countries that require Special registration have higher chances of getting struck in the name check. Dont ask me for the proof .. Its just a wild guess I am making . I may be wrong too
