What irked me is the attitude that they will take your money gladly but don't want you there.
I have met a British guy here in New York who was like that. He loved the money, and always smiled to me for the money. But he never even want to lift a finger for the money he has been paid to do. And he despised me and was ashamed of having to talk to me because he was surrounded by some Southerners who were equally racist.
In fact, he even scammed me for money. And he was a businessman and now a CEO of a corporation.

Need a suggestion on finding a job!
My friend has a master degree in India and worked in India for 6 months in Seimens before coming to US. Now she has EAD and would like to start working. Its been 3 years she left India and been idle.
She would like to start as a fresher / jr in IT though she has little experience.
When I asked a couple of guys, they suggested to approach Desi consulting companies.
From what I heard, they train and put up some fake exp and then apply for jobs (and of course need to sign a contract). But she doesn't like that.
I know a lot of people are in this situ too. I believe some of you have been here for a long time and have dealt with desi and US consulting companies. Some of you guys have good insight into these matters as well.
So what do you guys suggest?
Approaching Desi co is a good idea? or try for a full time employment with some US cos?
I was told that Desi cos know tricks of the trade. Not sure how true this is.

understandably so.. but I am now current after a looooong time. EB3 Dec 2001 PD. I can finally file the AOS for my wife who has been on H4 for the last 2 yrs... excellent!

It is a painful long journey. Remember there are always alternatives, just be prepared and dont put all your eggs in one basket. I did that once GC, House and School all supported by one job and when I was laid off all came crashing.

Is it legal to make photocopies of your passport in the US? They dont do it in FEDEX Kinkos etc., Ofcourse you can print it in your house.

from our polls in the past we came to a general consensus that there is a significant amount of filers between pre 2003 - 2005 march. Once u go over that hump...the date should move to dec 2005 because of the conservative approach most of the lawyers had with filing PERM in the initial days

Please see the last sentece which says "Thus, the same cut-off date for each country since the extra numbers must be made available in priority date order without regard to country".
When they use this spill over, only PD is imp not the country.
This will make prediction difficult since we do not know how many PDs are eligible in either country. Am i right?

Until Economy is back on track and unemployment rate is back to below 5%, do not attempt anything that pisses of American public. It is not the public perse, but those anti-immigration idiots will cry foul and make GC process even harder.
Right now, sit tight and wither the financial storm. The best action is to unlink I-485 adjudication to priority date. So, I-485 is approved and status changed to "Approved, awaiting VISA number".
They should create a list where approved I-485s with VISA number pending will be placed in a queue based on original PD. They should get automatic VISA number as soon as one is available in that order. Then the system automatically orders a GC. This should be automated so that another IO shouldn't mess with it.
They can also link this database with FBI or crime database so that if anyone is convicted, it will automatically generate a flag and USCIS can decide what to do with that approved 485. So, this will keep bad guys out if they commit any crimes while 485 is awaiting VISA number.
IV core, think about this.

Of course these are related to immigration, let me tell you how:
Picture of lord Ganesha will make more beer sell. More beer will have two consequences one employment level will increase plus people will be more energized drinking these beers. So in both cases it will increase the well being of Indians.
So this means, Manamohan Singh and other MPs will drink these beers a whole lot and sign the Nuclear deal. Once the nuclear deal is signed more elctricity will be generated and hence more beer.
That will increase the the well being of Indians further.
Once a certain level of standard of living is reached no one would want to come to the USA
If no one wants to come to the USA , naturally the green card line will become short.
If the green card line is shortned then...

I would not agree with the slogans you have proposed. It is important to bring out the same message in a subtle manner. My friend working in company A on L1...he has approved H1 also...if he needs to move from L1 to H1, does he needs to go out of country and get it stamped before he starts working on H1?
AFAIK,a person can have only one status at a time.He is already in H1 if he had a I94 attached.However if he intends to travel out of the country and reenter he needs to get his visa stamped .If he has applied 485 then, he also has the option of using AP ,if it is approved.

Assuming everyone stays the course, under these timelines
1. At least 5% of applicants will be sponsored by their American children.
2. Another 5% will have their first million and move to the investor's category.
The timelines would be a maximum of 20 years or so, at which point people would be sponsored by their children.
