I should think the faster CPU will have a much greater effect on performance than the GPU. GPU speed is really only relevant for games and video rendering.

Beyond this, no version of LR even uses hardware GPU acceleration, as far as I know.

Ok my mom just got a cable modem today. I have dsl at my house so I'm not sure if i'm doing everything right. The problem is, the airport is not getting an ip address from the modem. I just un-pluged everything for 8min and still nothing(This is applecare said to do.) The modem works fine when hooked up to a computer direct. Anyone have any hints at all. This is really getting to me. Shes running 10.2.6 and all the newest versions of airport/basestation etc.

Questions regarding LaCie external drives come up pretty frequently around here. You might want to do a search.

I'll post what I've posted before: D2 more expensive but runs cool, Porsche cheaper but runs hot. Haven't had a Porsche enclosure drive fail (knock wood), but others have and blamed thermal issues. Porsches don't seem to have a fan at all.

As long as Jobs announces that they are in fact "shipping today" then yes, the Apple Stores should have them immediately and you would also be able to order them from the onliine store.

There is talk that iLife might be previewed today, however not released yet, as it might have some tie-ins to Leopard and will be released at the same time as 10.5 instead of today. :cool:

that is, of course, unless Leopard is to be announced as available at the keynote. (Which it won't be.)

No problem, hopefully it's something simple.

Have you removed the preference file though? I'd do that first because it's a pretty harmless troubleshooting technique that is generally quite effective. :)

Remember to keep the file so that if it doesn't fix anything, you can put it back where you found it to keep your old settings. :)

still wipe and do a clean install just because it cant hurt.

the best way it to buy an external hdd and just copy and paste your data (thats what i do) or make a time machine back up

your itunes question is very easy actually copy your entire itunes folder and library to the new external drive.-> go into itunes on the MBA-> go into preferences and advanced you will see where it shows your itunes media folder location click change-> and remap it to the external driver you can only access it while plugged in but it will save a lot of space.
