Paolo,
Thank you for your reply. I did everything you suggested-again and even wrote it all down so I could try permutations. Bottom line, it will recognize the guitar input but not a microphone n:confused:or my two keyboards. I have the unit with me today ready to return to B&H. appreciate your help!

I'd have to go with Bungie before they died. It's somewhat odd to think about, but I really don't use many non-game applications that weren't made by Apple (Finder, TextEdit, Appleworks, Mail, Safari, iTunes, iCal, Calculator, XCode, and Terminal get me through most days). If I had to choose a serious application, it'd be Fire and whoever makes that.

Does the osx version of itunes support non-ipod mp3 players? (namely the creative nomad jukebox zen xtra) I had an ipod (3rd gen) but was unsatisfied with the sound quality.
Also, do you guys think the the 20" imac is worth the $200 or so jump in price from the 17" imac? I know the resolution isn't much higher, but how much better is the screen? I'm used to a 19" LCD right now.. Is the 20" lcd used in the g5 imacs the same one used in the 20" cinema displays? What about the 17" display, is the one used on the 17" powerbooks?

They'll get more than 10 phones. I'm guessing they will have more 16gb models than 32gb though. Which are you after? I'm aiming for the 32gb version.
I guess there is always carphone warehouse if o2 run out!
I'm after a 32gb hopefully in White if they have them! Do you know of anyone else that is going down?

Yes, everybody would like to know more, but what's another month?
I've already decided that unless by some miracle FCP X can really replace my FCP 7 workflow straight out of the box in June (highly unlikely), I'm not buying it until it truly can, even if it's only $300. I'm sure the post houses feel the same way...Its a no brainer for me. Ill buy it so I can at least start at ground floor. It wont take me away from Avid/FCP at work but I will at least have a head-start in case the school I teach at gets it for Fall classes.
Now as far as dropping it into a real world workflow, Id wait a bit.
Ive learned to not get caught up on the hype thanks to companies such as Adobe :P
Ill let the million plus beta-testers deal with it before I move to another CS blah blah blah :P

It's wrong because you want room for doubles, but get space for double *s. These are different types with different sizes. On platforms where sizeof(double) == sizeof(double *) your code will work. On platforms where this is not true you will not have the right amount of space. In most cases you will have too little space, not too much.

just one question before i try this,
if i firstly consolodate my library back to the default place in the 'my music' folder and then copy my library folder from the pc to the mac. then drag the library folder to the itunes icon... will all the playlists and stuff stored in the xml file be updated??
thanks,
Rowan

EDIT: If you choose .htaccess files, do _not_ use 744 or 755. You want these to be 644, maximum.
Would you care to elaborate on this, and its security implications?
Also, if you modify your httpd.conf file (which *is* the best method, but rarely available in shared hosting environments), don't forget to restart Apache ;)

....And since I'm not moving in for months, should I wait until what, a week before moving in to pay them the security and rent?
You're four months away from wanting to actually move in??? I think you're looking to early.
I can't imagine any landlord holding an apartment that long without your paying for all the time you wont be living there

yup dccorona, maybe I should avoid Dr. Dre Tour, I heard some good and bad reviews about them, it seems like they have inconsistent built quality...

Whats the point of banning if they can just make a new user?
Sometimes sites, like one forum I'm a supermod of, will IP Ban a user if members keep getting banned and they all have the same IP.

Where on earth can I find them other than eBay? I need the following...
 display bezel
 backlight inverter board
aluminum access panel(the one on the bottom that you remove to take it apart)
 power cable
Obviously I'd be willing to purchase a parts iMac if the price were right and it had what I need.

LCDs looks horrible when not ran at their native resolution. You will definitely want to run it at 2560x1600. If the text is too small, sit closer or make the fonts bigger.

I got some relief from a similar problem when I set my mail to check for new mail less often than I had previously set it. Seems some servers don't like it when you access too often. I'm at every 5 minutes now, with no problems. Maybe this would work for you?

This will be a lot longer way to do it, though you may not need to buy anything extra.
Do you have a the VHS enclosure you put your VHSC tapes in so you can play them on a regular VCR? if so then put the VHSC in the VHS tape (forget what their called, about $20.00). Then use the Red, white, and yellow cables from the VCR to the MiniDV, press play on the VCR and record on The MiniDV cam and you should now have a digital version of your movies. Then just hook the miniDV cam to your Mac via FireWire and you can import with ease. This is the way I did it years ago and worked great with FC and iMovie. granted it takes longer but it will be done without loosing quality. I always just start to copy the VHSC movie and come back in 2 hours, so your not sitting there wasting time.

I have to disagree i don't think its too invasive and works very well with the tone of the imagery.... i have seen reels with alot worse choices in music... my own is a prime example... :D
Also you can see that the reel has been cut using the track at certain parts... so changing it would require re-editing the whole sequence.
A reel should be recut once a month if you are doing a bunch of work. But, me being 32 I like it. I know from people I have worked with the DVD would have been taken out and dismissed 15 seconds in by some agency suits. Remember, a reel is to show your work... since this is a graphics reel it should be about the graphics and not so in your face with hip-hop.
If you could find a 'karaoke' version of the song with no lyrics it would help the cause. My $.02
PS.. your motion graphics are sick. Good work!
