only two centers process LAbor Certs. Chicago approves in 4 days mx, but Atlanta Center approves in 4 months .... So people who applied in chicago can file their 485 but people who filed in Atlanta cannot.
Why dont u show ur frustration there ??
And legally, LS or LC or what ever or GC for that matter in these cases, is an employer based peition. And if a legal company wants to do it ......why r u guys worried .......DO NOT GENERALIZE EVERYONE. and on the top .... no one is a dharmatma here as someone said .......

I read somewhere that doctors abroad who do the tests for consular processing cannot be used for AOS medicals.
u'll get RFE only if theres is a mistake in medicals, if there is NO medicals in the 485 packet, i think ur appln will be outright sent back.
whats ur PD, if its in the range of 2000 u still have hope that in next few months ur date becoems eligible for AOS.
ive heard that there are some doctors out there (of questionable integrity) who accept cash and give out medical reports. even tho this is a backdoor approach, u can make a few calls and give it a try. to make ur case more genuine, try to get a list of all attributes recorded in the blood and skin test, and get those done promptly done in india. atleast let the doctor copy over ur wifes actual stats rather than inventing it. If ur case is genuine, may be someone will be merciful to help u out of ur predicament.
Preponing visa interview without very valid reason cud be harmful. u never know, if they catch ur wife telling a lie then ull be walking on thin ice.
last year my friend visited india...he is on 7the year H1, and got 3 yrs extn based on 140. he had attached copy of approved 140 as proof...the chennai visa officer only asked him "is ur company paying for ur GC or you urself" ..he answered Company is paying full amount. and they gave him the visa. :-) if Govt is using approved 140 to give 3 yrs extn, obviously they know the intent to get GC...i dont believe telling truth that ur company is processing GC for you is going to harm you.

This is not the case for me....but during a discussion with my attorney and other friends contacts they said if you do not attach the medicals now you may get RFE at a later stage...which you can resolve it.
I bet any RFE can be articulated with reason by attorney if they are smart enough.
This is something I heard...but do not hold me on that. Please check with your attorney too and make a decesion.
May not be enitrely true. Medical report is part of the initial evidence now, so its better to send it with 485 application instead of relying on RFE. Also your wife is already in home country, she can get all the shots required there. best option is for her to prepone her travel if possible. yet another option is for you to go ahead and file yours first and add her later. Please check with your attorny about all these options.

My honest, ubiased opinion regarding PPF would that you should not remove your money from PPF. Its is very stable, it pays the highest interest and you dont have to manage it. Forget about it for 20 odd years and you will have a substantial amount accumulated in your account. You will withdraw it and blow it away, thats what most of the people end up doing.
That being said, if you still want to withdraw from your account or close your account, its really very simple. There is a one page form you need to fill out, and you will get the money fairly quickly. You DONT have to pay money to get it. I did not pay and neither did anyone i know.
This is something in india that works well for millions of working class people and its much better than the SS mess that is here.

My wife travelled to India via Munich (Lufthansa) in Feb end and she had no issues with transit visa. She was never asked about it. The I-94 had expired and we have a valid AP and approved H1 (unstamped). She has not returned yet, so any requirement on return journey is untested.

Just imagine what will happen to the market flooded with EADs. Job market for H1Bs will totally be down. No US companies will hire H1Bs if they get somebody with an EAD. Tonnes of Junior developers and S/W testers will in the market driving the billing rates down even further. It's better to pack up and leave. I have heard from one of the forums here that an estimated 500K people will file this month since all PDs are current. EB-3 mexico + phillipines togther alone will be close to 300K. God help the Job market.
Also minimum wait time will be 500K/140K ~ 4 yrs before they get to process your GC. Add to that the time for namecheck backlog 2+ yrs. So total 6+ yrs before getting GC........

Isnt that how a market is supposed to work - on the laws of demand and supply. For every consequence there is always an unintended one. And if enought local wokers (EAD, others) are available then the laws of the market would require an automatic reduction in the number of H1b's.
Before people start dumping on me - lets remind ourselves that we are here for a healthy debate and to appreciate ALL view points.
Remember - It is not that important to know all the answers as it is to ask the right questions.

We have a head start on Northern CA lawmakers, but we'd like to galvanize the rest of the state.
We have an excel spreadsheet with the district office info of every CA congressperson. We should just start going through that list and meeting at least a lawmaker or two a week in every sub-region.
It would be great if members from Southern CA and Central CA would get involved. Dial-in to the weekly conference call on Thursdays, and find out how we put a lawmaker meeting together, what works and what doesn't, what to take etc.
Also, if you go to the Resources section of the website -- you'll see the new presentation and edited brochure. Check them out and prepare yourself for conversations with legislators and potential members.

At one point, there was concurrent filing. Just get LC approved and file for I-140 and I-485. Even if dates are not current. Then these filings were seperated. Then retrogression kicked in.
Now these GCs are getting aproved. So, don't worry.
