Do any of you guys use pitchfork.com to read reviews on new and upcoming music?
I find their reviews don't really contrast well with my opinion of the album but I use it to find new CDs I might never hear of otherwise. I've found some amazing albums on there that would have slipped through the cracks of all this contemporary ********* on the radio.

We'll be doing another entry tomorrow, and hopefully with better lighting and such, heck we might not even be in it ;).

Nope, but must not have been anything important or else we'd have heard about it or seen an update of some sort on the apple site.
Well, time to buy then. I really hoped they would bring out ACDs there, but I guess I'll have to deal with the "old" technology.

I have been a PC user for basicly my entire life, but I have never exactly been happy with it. The thing would crash, have the BSoD, but that is not really why i switched.
Basicly I got tired of the Windows Operating System, Bill Gates, and the millions of PC Viruses. I needed a notebook for college in the fall, and I picked up a 17" PowerBook G4 because it suites all of my needs and it replaces the need for a desktop for quite some time. I have enjoyedm first week as a Mac User because everything has worked so well, and I am actually used to all of the windows opened at the same time now! (I never understood before untill I actually spent hours upon hours with the thing)
I have now become addicted to iTunes and have puchased 68 songs in my first week. :D Another reason why I wanted the Mac is because of Final Cut Pro. I love watching and making movies so I felt that the Mac would be the best thing for me... The last movie I made was on my Pentium 4 box and I nearly threw it out of the window because it was so evil... Hopefully the Mac is more kind. I have not started to edit video on my Mac yet, but that is because I have not had the time.
I like my "little" 17" PowerBook because it works great and everyone I have shown it off to has been really amazed by it.

Would/Could these chips end up in the single cpu MPs? Do they support Thunderbolt? I am struggling to find any concrete information.

I say sell the older machine... and get the new 12"iBook and the 20" iMac G5. :D I have the combo and I love it. Honestly, I can't see the need for power (for most students) in a portable... save some money by having a more powerful desktop and a nice portable that can easily handle the basics and then some.

I got my 10.5 yesterday, but I still want to go to the apple store near my office (it's only a block away). Do you guys think they will be giving the free stuff to only people who buy leopard, or does anyone in the crowd get one? I plan to buy a new bag and some accessories for my MacBook.

Probably one of the most non-brilliant, pointless ideas I've ever heard before. What's the point of buying a refurb and then returning it in 14 days? And then what...you're just gonna be iPad-less until the next one. Is 14 days really that thrilling for you? That you need to screw a company. I don't care how much the company has, you're buying an iPad with the sole intent to not keep it - such a waste.
As to your attitude towards other members, it's really sad. Do you really need to come on the internet and act all high and mighty, and better than others? I'm sorry your life is that sad that you feel such a need to degrade people.

So I searched the forums and couldn't find any concrete information on this, but what are the rumors for iOS 5? Will it be compatible with the iPhone 4, and is it coming out in June at the conference? What has everyone heard?

Did you fight over who got to be Mac?
What would you like the title of your ad to be in the contest gallery? Apple's "PC and Mac" ads have titles, and yours should too.

Older 27" iMacs feature video-in, you can connect PS3 to it using something like Kanex XD (it is $150 device tho'). 2011 iMac doesn't have such port, but my guess is that you should be able to use TP as video-in. However, that's just my guess. I'd contact Kanex with this kind of question.

No problem with Snow Leopard here.
What software crashes.
Except I've had the same results on all the machines I've had that ran Snow Leopard.
MacBook Pro 2.33ghz Late 2006
MacBook Pro 13 2.26
Mac Mini 2.26
Mac Mini 2.4
MacBook Pro 2.66
It's been equally problematic on all of them.
Seems to be user problem. You probably have one piece of software that's causing the problem.

No problems. Hopefully it's something simple like the loose antenna. :)

What's the value of $PWD for the process called by system ? Since you specify a relative path, it will write the file to $PWD/. Try setting an absolute path instead.
Next, what is the euid of the process called by system ? If not run as root, does the user have permissions to write to $PWD ?
Also, why are you casting the result of calloc ? You don't have to cast it if you include stdlib.h which you did.

Sounds to me indeed similar to trying to capture an analog tape through a digital camera.
Is this the case?
If not, can you tell me your setup?
If it is, I'm afraid your only choice is to capture with iMovie - save everything else for FCX.
It's not all that inconvenient - exept you'll be importing non-intuitive clips names "Clip 01", "Clip 02", etc. You'll have to rename them in your browser to keep your sanity.

Ok, I know it's just a wee niggle and I knew that there would be some bashing but it's fairly annoying to see 10-15 posts that are clearly attention-seeking. I'm just saying it's a bit immature to write a post with a title that has so many question marks. Also, the type of thread that has a title like that is likely to be short, pointless and uninformative. I know I'm stereotyping here, but what I'm trying to say is: the thread title normally is just a drop of water that, when you open the thread, turns into a flood.

Just to check, if I build with Xcode 4 can I submit to iTunesConnect? The SDK isn't in beta so logic says yes but I just want to be sure.

So Im a freelance Editor/Motion Graphics guy with no real understanding of RAID Controller Cards, or how they work.
As of right now I have three 1TB drives inside my Mac Pro, RAIDed together (stripe 0) using the OS. No Raid card.
The drives are all 7200rpm from varying manufacturers. (not sure if this matters.)
My questions is; is it beneficial for me to get a RAID card to control these drives vs. leaving it to the OS to handle? Any suggestions for me?
Thanks.
