My greencard application has stuck in name checks for 3 years. I recently filed a Writ of Mandamus. Before going to court, U.S. Attorneys filed to dismiss my case, citing that the adjustment of status is discretionary and the FBI can take as long as they want to do background checks.
I am hesitating whether to go ahead with a court hearing. In addition, I am not happy with my current lawyer.
Can someone recommend a good lawyer to me? Many thanks!

I wouldn't export it from photoshop at all.
Are you sure the tutorial called for you to export from photoshop? Can you provide a link to the tut?
I would:
Save for web as a png or a jpg, depending upon which looks better. Then choose "import" in Flash to import the object. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that you can directly import photoshop files into Flash as well. This could be useful if you have a many layered photoshop file which contains things like imported illustrator elements and such. I believe that the import keeps all the layers in place, as grouped object.

Hi all ,
Me and my husband are planning india trip in jun or july this year for 2-3 weeks.We both need to get our visas stamped in New Delhi .
We are short on time and our native places are far .So to save time and keep the window for passport arrival if approved or any problems ,postal delays..I was thinking to get visa-interview-date the day we land to delhi.
So here is the probelm,travelling with heavy bags ,international baggage is unsafe and difficult.
What would be the travel tips ?
Our plan is-
1.To stay in some hotel in delhi the day we land( if we reach in evening) and go to stamping next day.
Where to stay? Should we go to consulate with all international luggageand directly travel for native or keep in hotel room, come back later for it ,is it safr options?
Traveeling is also difficult
2.Then for there on ,what transport ,bus,delux bus,train ,or flight to take to chandigarh.
what ever is easiest for us ?

You should probably include area of chargeability as well, to help the experts answer. This can make a huge difference as well.

So what do I do.
I am looking to buy a SUBWAY franchise outright costing 200 K
I do not know how can you apply for the green card from the SubWay. If it was Indian hotel people apply as international Chef. But SubWay does not need that kind of expertise. If you want do the business that is fine. 200K seems little high even for the green card.

As veni001 stated to extend H1B beyond 6 yrs don't we need to have Approved 140? and you said your 140 was withdrawn after approval. So withdrawn 140 has no effect on H1B extension. Did you submit the 140 documents also to USCIS? my email id is kalyan.cdev at gmail.com please drop me an email with the details..

I am in for Gandhigiri. I remember we celebrate aniversaries of the success we had when we did this 1st time and only time. Its time we do it again.
I know many people whose cases are ready to be adjucated are keeping a silent note core members or others, and they will become active again when numbers become unavailable.. which makes sense like in many cases. What will you do if your date is current.. be very hopeful for hearing the good news.. and not try to get ANY attention, . right.. Sorry if I hurt anyone,. but what are we waiting for.. economy to pick up??.
But I know many people out there are not even close to or hopeful if the numbers become current.. LETS DO IT. We request IV core to come forward and start a campaign. Please help.

Has anyone had an experience with h1 restamping at Mumbai when they were not resident of Mumbai Embassy district.
I have an apptmt in Mumbai for May 12th for an H-1 staming and I am WORKING in USA and the address in the passport is in KERALA (Chennai consulate).
This is the response to a MAIL that I had sent to the MUMBAI consulate!!

It is advisable to apply in your own district. That is the last place in India where you resided for at least 6 months before going to the U.S.

Embassy or Consulate at an applicant's designated consulate are generally more familiar with his or her circumstances and documents than the officers somewhere else would be.You should also be aware that even if this post allows you to apply, it is still possible that the interviewing officer will refuse to adjudicate your case and will refer you to your own district anyway.
Application fees in this case will NOT be refunded.

Since this thread is open and dont want to wast resouce on new thread. I want to ask people those who had already filed 485/EAD/AP that did anyone has taken photos at Walgreens.
I am getting $7.99 for taking 2 photos at Walgreens($48 for 2person with 6 photos deal) in Milwaukee. Whereas in Kinko's I am getting deal of $13.50 for first 2 photo and rest 4 photos for $13.50 ($54 for 2 person with 6 photos deal) in Milwaukee city area.
Now question besides money I want to know which one is worth taking chance for taking a picture interms of quality.

How do we know if our case is pre-adjudicated or nor, is it only a guess based on PD, that a case may pre-adjudicated.
Today, I called uscis, and asked if my case is pre-adjudicated or not. I was told that the rep does not have access to my personal info.
PD - July 2004-EB2
I 485 RD - Aug 17, 2007 and ND - Oct 16, 2007
Attended interview at the local uscis on June 25th, 2009
Spouse alone second FP on July 5th , 2009

I got the LUD on last year's approved AP too on 7/27..wonder why on an approved AP..(PD Jan 06)..maybe because i had applied for its renewal...or maybe a mass system update, as it occured on a Sunday. Dont think we can read anything into such LUDs..only LUD that i would believe in - 'Your 485 has been approved and you are a free man!!!' :-)

I just got approved for my 3 year extension I am on my 7 th year now.
I just got a request from HR saying that I need to sign a promissory note for the total amount spent by my employer on H1b realted fees.
So in short they are asking me to sing the promissory note to get reimbursement for part of the lawyer fees I had paid for this visa extension.
Here are the important points:
0. Total amount is like $3K.
1. 50% owed after 1 year
2. 0% owed after two years of service.
3. 100% owed when employment is terminated by either party :-0
4. 10% per annum interest after the 31st day of termination.
Is this even legal , or it lies in the gray areas for any body to interpret anything they want.
I dont care about the money, but I think this is borderline harassment.
Note:This is not a desi consulting co.
