Does the osx version of itunes support non-ipod mp3 players? (namely the creative nomad jukebox zen xtra) I had an ipod (3rd gen) but was unsatisfied with the sound quality.
Also, do you guys think the the 20" imac is worth the $200 or so jump in price from the 17" imac? I know the resolution isn't much higher, but how much better is the screen? I'm used to a 19" LCD right now.. Is the 20" lcd used in the g5 imacs the same one used in the 20" cinema displays? What about the 17" display, is the one used on the 17" powerbooks?

Yes, it's possible that some major new features will be introduced between now and the final shipping version.
Leopard was first demoed in June shipped in October 2007. The revised Finder, new Dock and menubar weren't announced until June 2007...same for Stacks, Back To My Mac, Cover Flow, and Quick Look.

Well all, after many months of tryign to figure out what computer to get I finally got myself a new 17incher. First, thanks to all those who helped me figure out what to do. Secondly I'd like to say that when I was driving the 60 miles hoem from the apple store wiating to open up the computer I was a little nervous that i might have gotten one that is too large for me, and I should have stuck with the 15 incher. Well now I've had the computer home fora few hours, and must say... I absolutely positively made the right choice size wise. This computer is somethign I need for traveling, so its small form make it an easy companion for trips, and I don't need it on a plane so much, so that's fine. Right now I'm playing puzzle pirates writing this and watchign a movie n small mode, and can see most everything. For anyone trying to decide between a 15 ich and a 17 inch, relaly the real estate space on the 17 inch is to die for. I didn't think it'd matter that much to me, but coming from an old 15inch apple flat panle to this, well there's just no comparison. Everything is so nice and open, not cramped at all. Also I'd liek to say that this screen is gorgeous, and whiel I haven't watched a movie on full screen mode, I can't wait to see how it does. I suppose that's all i have for now. Feel free to ask me questions, as I'd love to answer them. I'm so incredibly happy with my computer right now that I don't wanna go to sleep, and would rather tinker around with it all night. Anyway like i said, if you've got questions jsut ask.
Love

Hopefully earlier as the Apple store here is open 24/7. I'm hoping they let us pick up our reserved ones at 7am like AT&T stores.

Thank you Apple for fixing your full price beta software.
I've been using Aperture 3.0 since 3.0.1 came out. This is FAR from "beta" quality software. It's rock solid on my 250GB+ Aperture library.
Yes, some folks have had problems, but that's to be expected; this is software, and software will always have bugs. The bugs were neither egregious nor wide-spread (although to hear the kvetching you'd think that every Aperture user had their photo libraries replaced with goat se pics and emailed to their coworkers).
The much less vocal majority have been using Aperture 3 for a while now and are getting a heck of a lot of use out of it.

Hi all,
Just incase anyone stumbles across this thread when they are having similar issues I wanted to post an update.
It sounds so simple but I think my wake issues may have actually just been down to weak batteries in my keyboard.
After 10.6.7 some people were reporting that they were getting the wrong battery life metering for wireless devices. Some people had their power levels stuck at 100% even though the batteries had previously been showing 50% depletion before updating to 10.6.7
My keyboard was showing 46% yesterday but I thought to eliminate the possibility of the mac pro waking due to a lost keyboard connection due to weak batteries, I changed them out for fresh batteries.
My mac went to sleep last night and slept the whole night, until I woke it this morning.
I'll try it again later but I'm pretty certain that's all it was.
Oh well, at least I've got a freshly installed OS and clean running machine now, even though all I actually needed to do was swap some batteries! :)

They just need to have another Us Fest, seriously. For those that don't remember, in the early 80s (before Apple lost it's cool, while Jobs and Woz were still a team) they laid down sod over part of the desert, had air-conditioned tents, and threw a rock festival in part for their employees and the press. This was two decades before Apple got into digital music... they knew how to throw a party :)
edit: I'm not sure if it was Apple or Wozniac that officially sponsored it, so don't flame me.

...but if you plan on using the external for extensive rendering and etc. then the D2 would be better.
I havn't had over heating problems on my LaCi Proche drive, and I have had it work hard for several hours at a time. Then again, it is on a glass table.

It's based on what Apple is signing, not what's on your phone. I don't know why the OP didn't want to save the blob. If you've got the blob, you can install that ios anytime you want.
can u only save blobs from the current FW that your idevice is on or can u save whatever Apple is signing?

I really like the griffin elevator but im looking for one where i can use the laptop comfortably while its not connected to a different screen
Hmm, I personally think that you can still use the Elevator comfortably, as it's only 5 inches high. You could also connect a wireless keyboard + mouse if that would be more comfortable.
But if you want to get a little stand while using the Macbook, I'd reccommend you getting some sort of Laptop Ramp, like the Standivarius Aero. (http://www.standivarius.com/shop/2-aero-attachable-laptop-stand.html)
Good luck in finding a decent stand!

Don't know if you're beyond the statute of limitations though.
You are right. Apple's policy is to refund the difference between what you paid and the new price if it's purchased within 10 days of the price change.
