I use Canon gear, so am not much help with Nikon. However, my macro lens is the Sigma EX 105 and I think it is one of the best lens values available. I've owned it for a year now and use it more than any other of my lenses. Autofocus is slow, but I have yet to figure out why I'd want autofocus for macro work, so it doesn't matter. To get more reach, I'm seriously considering the new Sigma EX 150 macro. It is getting excellent reviews and images I've seen are as good as they get. I don't use any other magnifying techniques, so I can't offer any help with some of the other items you mentioned. Here's my current favorite shot with the Sigma macro.

We recd. our 485 approval last week and recd. the cards in the mail earlier this week. We were interviewed at the local USCIS for our 485's, 2 weeks ago. It went really smooth and case was approved the same day as the interview.
I would like to whole-heartedly thank IV core and all IV members. This site has been an amazing resource of information & support for us thru our journey. I became a IV member during the July 2007 fiasco. We were there at the IV rally in DC in Sept 2007, have attended local chapter meetings. We will continue to support IV in it's mission.

questin in regards to the topic here. What are the salary requirements for job for Eb2 category. Does one need to be making that much while on H1b or once he has green card.

Don't worry about this. My husband too got a similar RFE with regards to employment verification. Your wage being higher should not pose any problems to you. I believe this kind of RFE is more rampant now considering the economy and the recession we are in.

What are chances of Dream Act? --> No one can predict. Depends on how Bush era tax cut bill goes through. Dems has added few provision to please Republicans so they are improving chances.
What are the chances of including our provisions in the bill? --> At this point Republicans want enforcement. They may not bargain for legal immigration in this bill. Rather they may prefer to add some tough rule for dreamers.
What happens if the bill passes without our provisions? ---> We will still have a chance to have our bill as piecemeal or just sit and watch
What happens if the bill fails? --> I hope they get it done, Dreamers are more enthusiastic than us and unless they get it these lawmakers will not think about us. Also they can set example that piecemeal is possible.
WHAT ARE OUR CHANCES IN 2011? --> As I said if dreamer can get their bill done, and CHC doesn't hold any piecemeal in future chances are there. but I doubt CHC will allow any legal immigration bill until Dems are in power of either of house.

When I applied I140 and I485 concurrently along with EAD in June 2005, I got EAD approved and mailed in 1 month. But my I140 got approved after an RFE in the last week of Nov 2005. EAD and AP processing dates are different.

Hi, I have 3 yrs exp. as a software engineer. I have a master's degree . In order to be qualified for EB2, which is better to be put on the job ad, BS+5 or MS+2? Based on my understanding:
BS+5: BS is believed to be qualified enough for the software engineer position. But BS+5 may not be qualified for EB2?
MS+2: Master degree is good for EB2, but wondering if the DoL thinks it is necessary for a SE position.
Could you please give me advice on this? I really appreciate that.

I’m a legal immigrant, I140 approved and on EB3 waiting list, priority date 04/2006. I need to renew my valid SC driver's license that will expire on 08/15/2010. Went to SC DMV today and they confiscated my valid SC drivers license card, issued a sheet of paper (Letter size) with letter head "Temporary driver's license card" without photo on it. This "document" is only valid in SC. This means that I cannot travel outside SC and May take up to 60 days to re-issue my SC DL card. I'm a professional electronic engineer and my work requires to travel outside the SC state. Why do I need to be punished? Just because I am a foreigner! This is an interesting story where the SC and other states illegal Immigration Reform Act is affecting legal immigrants very badly. Is all about illegal immigrants or there is a growing xenophobia in the USA? If you are a foreigner but legally in this country you are consider guilty until proven innocent? Or all immigrants are consider illegal?

If you applied for EAD and plan on using it with another employer make sure your 140 is approved and you have waited for 6 months after the I485 Receipt date before moving to a similar job.
you might get a couple of LUD's on the 485 in the mean time. ( I got one as recent as last week - not sure what it means)
budget money for EAD and AP renewals. Damn those are expensive now with the increased rates
and If nothing happens in 15 months, get ready for one more FP appointment.
check IV and other forums and help others with questions.

My company is closing offices and we all will be working from home. My I140 is cleared and I am in process of extending my H1 which expires in june 09.company has no office at india.
I want to know for how long I can work from India on H1 being on US payrole? The
