What does this mean???
The disappointing news is that the projections for EB2 for India born applicants will not advance for several months. For the months of October and November 2010, the Department of State has used 700 EB2 numbers and that does not count the demand for USCIS for EB2 numbers.

We have received information that the Comprehensive Immigration Bill will be voted soon and the bill will be closed for amendments on Wednesday. That leaves only 2 working days to get something done
The text for the bill was only released in the evening on March 28th
As you have seen from the document released by IV that H2A workers will now be able to get citizenship in 11 years and self petition themselves. But legal skilled workers
1) will not be able to self petition
2) the wait to citizenship as it stands today is definitely more than 11 years
3) and all the left-over visas from EB1, EB2 and EB3 will now go to EB5 category
We really need to make sure that everyone is aware of the unfair treatment meted out to legal skilled immigrants and will be doing the following
1) We will be putting up webfaxes to send to senators asking for similar treatment to legal skilled immigrants too. They should be up by 5.00 PM EST. Make sure you login and send a webfax ASAP.
How can I send the fax?
a) Login,
b) click on the 'Home' link on the top of the page,
c) then click on the 'WebFax' link on the left hand side menu options,
d) enter your information,
e) Select webfax # 10 and #11 and your state
f) Send the fax
2) We need to contact each and every company like Microsoft/Intel (and any other to which IV members belong) that depends on skilled immigrants for their functioning. We need to make sure that their HR and CEO know about this.
a) If you are not comfortable with speaking about this to your HR/CEO (and we don't see any reason why), please send us the email id of the right person in HR and your CEO. We will not put your name anywhere but send a polite email to them on behalf of Immigration Voice. We will NOT spam them (just a single email) and will not name any person in the email. Remember that this is just to get their attention so that they can do the right thing.

What's is Frist's motive in trying to trip the McCain - Kennedy or Specter's Markup? What's his point?
Looks like in Congress, each senior senator is a leader of his own and don't tolerate or cannot see eye to eye on more serious work of fellow senators or congressman. The idea is to trip the whole effort to treat illegal immigrants as humans. In Frist and its ilk's opinion, they want the services of illegal (and legal) immigrants, but this great country doesn't want to give any benefits to the illegal aliens in return. It's is so farcical, only the feudal minded Frists' can do it. Many in this country want 'closure' for this and 'closure' for that, but they deny all relief to these illegal aliens. Our goal of relief from retrogression and to increase visa numbers is unfortunately tied to such 'comprehensive bills'.
I want users of this forum to think about it, ruminate on it and write letters to law makers, newspapers etc.

I know you have spent some time analyzing the whole stuff and came with your conclusions. At the end, if someone says that the crux of your conclusions are wrong, for an emotional person, it would be tough to take. A rational person would take it lightly and think before responding. In your immediate previous reply, you just cherry picked a quote from my previous reply and put that as my interpretation. Please do not put words into my mouth. My reply has been pasted below in its entirety.
You have campared the paragraph with NumbersUSA argument etc. Dear friend, my argument was exactly opposite to that paragraph. I think, you didn't get the meaning of the paragraph itself. My paragraph contained phrases like "If your argument is correct..", ". If the unused can be given to ..". etc, which makes the argument exactly opposite to what mentioned there. So, that means I believe exactly opposite to those arguments.
I acknowledge that you have every right to interpret the law in whichever way you want. My point is that, it really doesn't matter to all of the folks who applied in EB2 and waiting for GC. The thing that really matters is the way in which USCIS acts this year. They can act in whatever way they want. This year, if they say, there won't be any family visa wastage, we will get nothing. Contrary to that, if they see that by the end of the year there is a chance for 15K family vis wastage, they may allocate that to employment category.
To all EB2 folks out there: No need to really feel bad or happy about the analysis of Mr. MPADAPA.
My general advice to anyone who put forward an argument for propaganda and a campaign is: Don't massage the facts, don't twist the facts, don't over analyze, don't under analyze, Also don't say that your interpretation is the final verdict. Because, even if we can analyze all the immigration related laws in the whole Federal register, we may not be able to come to a final conclusion....!! Why? Because you don't have a clue what is in the field manual and internal memos of the USCIS and you don't know how they procedurely allocate spill over etc on each year. As long as USCIS and DOS can use the terms "In Anticipation..", "As per our expectations..", no one will be able to hold them accountable for the visa wastage.
MPADAPA..you may continue your argument/discussions, if you think this is a moot point. But I don't believe so.
If you can prove your initial basic argument with complete facts and details, I will openly declare, I am wrong! Your original argument was "Since the family category used up all Visa numbers in 2008, in 2009 EB2 cannot expect any spill over from Family category and hence we need to expect slow movement....".
Instead of proving the above, you may cherry pick my statements and continue to beat about the bush. I am giving up here my friend.

Knowing that PD's aren't going to move forward drastically, we need to start working towards some thing drastic like a bill/amendment. Or we can sit and mull over it and wait until the second week of Aug (when Sep bulletin is announced) to show our frustration.

In reality, towards the end of the Fiscal year, if USCIS/State Dept finds that visas will go unused in one category, they can use the spill over rules. So, if there are some potential unused visas in Family category they can add it to Employment category and vice versa. This will all work in the same year. It will not work or get transferred to a following year. In your initial argument, you said, because all the family visas for 2008 are completely used, we won't get anything from that category as spill over during this year (2009).
If your argument is correct, there won't be any need for recapture laws that we all are working for. If the unused can be given to the next year, no visa will get wasted. USCIS/DOS can just give the unused in family category to Employment category in the following year and vice versa.

Talked to an io at neb sc.within 5 sec of me starting to talk the ffice interuppted and she apologosed for doing that and said because of huge vol of appli there is a delay in the receipt notice.i SAID I AM july 2 nd filer and she said it might be in the first week of aug..(i had said the same thing in my earlier post too after i spoke toa diff officer)..She asked to keep checking the check clearnace.

What you say sounds very selfish and narrow-minded.
When I made my first contribution to IV, I was stuck in BEC-hole and clearing out BEC was my top priority but not the top priority issue IVs list. I still believed in the big common goal and believed in the IV team.
You say that you don't see any benefit from IV's goals and so you wont contribute. IV's top priority is to bring relief through legislative solutions to retrogression. Can you tell me that eliminating retrogression will not benefit CP filers? If not, then what's the excuse of your bunch to not contribute?
If you still want to stick with the above "Oh it does not directly benefit me, a CP filer, because it does not massage my foot and make me feel good" rhetoric, then hey since I'm interested only in 485, I'd have to say that not a single cent of my contribution should go towards anything other than 485.
If every 485 filer were to get that selfish and said that, it would leave out this small pool of CP filer contributions (if any) which does not cover the costs of even arming up for your proposed cause. Now, where do you want to go from here?
BTW, it sounds like the CP filers are the ones who are frustrated - not the 485 filers.

If you had decided to continue on H1B and had not applied for GC but after seeing this forum where millions of your fellow countrymen or like-professionals suffering and you couldn't bear their sufferings and hence wrote a check to IV - you aren't selfish. But now you have just paid for a 'dutch' party!!! Nothing more my friend. You have taken a lift from a vehicle that is going to the destination that you wanted to. and you are sharing some expenses! I dont see any generosity in you.
And, before you jump on CP filers and accusing them for not contributing to IV, please jump on remaining 485 filers who are not contirbuting despite that they will be 'directly' benefiited by IV's efforts.

Will they not update status when they send any FP notice? Even if one misses the letter, one will get an idea whether something happened or not. Or are you saying that they don't even change the status when they send FP notice and if it misses to reach us we never would be knowing at all??
Can anybody clarify whether they update at the online status system when they send FP notice. Otherwise there is some reason for a mild worry; still don't see any reason for the kind of anxiety people are having for not having FP.

I was wondering if someone will mention F-22.
First of all, F-22 is not for sale. Period. There is no such thing as a close ally as far as F-22 is concerned. Even the Israelis got a curt NO when they wanted to buy it.
Second, IAF does not want the F-22. It is US$ 150 Million a piece which makes it almost twice as expensive as any of the planes being considered. Also, if you look at the IAF's area of operation: F-22 is an overkill. None of the neighboring countries and this includes China has capabilities that will necessitate something like F-22 to deal with.

May be you are right....but, I feel that the whole thing is a broken promise. And I feel like I fell right in the trap set for people like us.

Disappointed ..... definitely YES, having realised the follies of the "system" here. Search within yourself to find out how / why you came to this country first. Was it just a lure of the GC ? Most of us either came to study / work. We took it one step at a time, but GC was not the only or ultimate goal.
I can speak for myself at least...
