The Safarish theme suggested is still very buggy (e.g., the find bar is huge), so it looks like I'll be ditching Firefox and just picking up a RSS reader. By "TBE doesn't work properly" I mean that half of the options don't show up in preferences.
Hmmmm...that sounds like somewhere there is a corrupt file, or something strange. I get the same option set in Win2k and in MacOS. But at any rate, Safari is a good browser, and I hope you enjoy it. Another couple of Safari hints:
If you haven't already, try PithHelmet (http://culater.net/software/PithHelmet/PithHelmet.php), which is, to me, not quite as nice as AdBlock, but gives you many of the same features, and AcidSearch (http://www.pozytron.com/?acidsearch) , which to me, is in some ways nicer than FF search bar customization (you can re-order the search options in the pull-down, which for me, is in-and-of-itself awesome).

i went to the store and checked out these speakers, and although they aren't *quite* as good as the klipsch's they come real damn close, and look damn nice too. I'm surprised nobody suggested them..

OK, I just reset it and put all my apps back on, only this time it is NOT jailbroken. It is doing the same thing.
You can't just assume that jailbreaking is the cause.
Has anybody ever seen this problem before?

North Dakota is the embodiment of everything that invokes upsetting emotions while watching the movies "napoleon dynamite" and "gentlemen broncos"... If you've been there, you know what I mean
Yes I have, and you are way off base. Apart from the fact that the creator of those movies is from Idaho, there is nothing particularly good or bad about North Dakota. It is a decent place, with commendable and detestable people, much as you would find in Colorado or Mississippi. Most states have a fair mix of people, and most states are being run by excretory orifices.

Something is up on your end, Parallels six is working fine on my iMac i3 with only 4GB of ram, and your macbook pro is way more powerful. Maybe you need to increase the resources you're giving to the virtual machines?

Man do these icons look ugly the look "ubuntu gnome like". It seems that they're decided on the icons being greyed out now, just like they did in iTunes. Huge bummer, we're visual and it would be much easier to distinguish with color imo. Hope the developers give apple that feedback.
Agreed. It's been reported on the dev forums, it seems it's an issue with many.
Colors are instinctively the easiest to notice than monochrome labels. Google "The Stroop Effect", an old psychological study that demonstrates we are inherently inclined to recognize this blue as red, not blue, etc. Hopefully Apple will make adjustments for the better.
I've spent hours weeding through system files and only found two locations for the three necessary sidebar icons, 16/18/36 sizes. I've replaced them all with custom color icons, reset permissions/PRAM/etc. but nothing. Since Lion's using more/new frameworks, it could be anywhere.

The Resolved prefix (at least) doesn't show when the forum is viewed from the mobile site.
BIt's too bad that the mobile forum software doesn't support all features of the full site interface.
Too bad resolved cannot auto-close the thread.
We wouldn't want it to. [Resolved] means that the O.P. considers the problem solved or question answered, but other users may still have comments to make, for example if they encountered a similar problem, had a similar question, or didn't understand the previous posts.

So Im a freelance Editor/Motion Graphics guy with no real understanding of RAID Controller Cards, or how they work.
As of right now I have three 1TB drives inside my Mac Pro, RAIDed together (stripe 0) using the OS. No Raid card.
The drives are all 7200rpm from varying manufacturers. (not sure if this matters.)
My questions is; is it beneficial for me to get a RAID card to control these drives vs. leaving it to the OS to handle? Any suggestions for me?
Thanks.

3 drives in RAID0 ? Yikes, anyone of them goes and your machine is out of action. RAID0 offers no fault tolerance as no drives in the array share parity info or are mirrored.
You would most certainly see a benefit in a hardware RAID solution, especially if you are going to switch to a RAID level with some redundancy, like RAID5 or RAID10. Also a true hardware RAID takes the processing load off your processors and memory.
If on a budget you could go with RAID-Z, it involves switching to the ZFS file system. RAID-Z1 apparently offers similar performance to RAID5. Read this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1135718) for further insight.
I would get an SSD for the OS and use the 3x 7200rpm Disks in RAID5.
RAID5 is great for storing uncompressed video data and in your case would offer protection against a single drive failure.
or Just RAID5 with 3x HDD's and partition the RAID volume.
The most recommend cards right now are the Areca 6g 1880 series or the new ATTO 6G series. For your needs something like the ARC-1880-i SAS 6G RAID Controller would suffice if you don't plan to connect external RAID/Storage solution.
I would go with a 6G controller so as to take advantage of new fast 6G SSD's etc.
nanofrog is the RAID-whizz around here and I am sure he would be able to suggest something for you.

I use OmniWeb 5.1 - yes, it is not free after a trial period, but it is the "power user's" browser.
Give it a go, see how you like it. They have educational discounts; its $30, $20 if you are a student.
It really is amazing.
Oh, and other than being a happy customer, I'm not affliated w/ Omnigroup

Apple's MobileMe Gallery (http://appshopper.com/photography/mobileme-gallery) application has received a minor update today, fixing a few bugs while delivering new support for iPhone 4. With the update, the application can now download higher-resolution versions of images hosted on MobileMe when used on an iPhone 4 and connecting over Wi-Fi. The change allows users to take advantage of iPhone 4's 960 x 640 "Retina" display to view images in crisper detail.
Unfortunately, the update does not yet bring native iPad compatibility to the application, a feature which would seem to be a logical addition to allow users to browse their MobileMe image galleries on the device's larger screen.
